Our Alumni

MARTHA CONSTANTINOU

Martha started taking Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera classes at The Film and Stage Studio in 2014, where she also studied Method Acting, the Stella Adler technique, the Uta Hagen Philosophy and Meisner technique.

After a year of training at TFSS, Martha made the conscious decision to apply to the prestigious Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles.

She prepared for the auditions and the interviews with her acting coach Athena Xenidou and was accepted and received a scholarship. After her graduation from AADA, she worked in several professional productions in LA, before returning to her homeland, Cyprus. She is currently a sought-after actor on television and on stage.

CHRISTINA MAROUCHOU

Born in Toronto Canada, and currently based in Cyprus, Christina works as an actor in theater, TV and film in both English and Greek speaking productions. 

She has been taking part in the yearly shows under the direction of Athena Xenidou at The Film and Stage Studio since 2012. In 2013 she was accepted at the Stella Adler Studio in New York for a series of Master Classes in acting. 

Christina started her career in her teens as a TV show host. After a year in Athens studying at the Athinon Drama School, she returned to Cyprus where she graduated from the Vladimiros Kaykarides Drama School in 2008. 

Along with her studies in acting, she also received a degree in Communications at the University of Nicosia. She is currently the senior Presenter at the online broker XM.com as well as a radio show host, currently on NJOY Radio 99.5. 

She starred in numerous theatrical productions such as A Few Good Men, The Good Body and Caterina: Last Queen of Cyprus which featured at the United Solo Theatre Festival in 2019 in New York, with raving reviews.

She has starred in numerous tv series as well as local and international films.

CHRISTINE GEUKDJIAN

With a BA in European Studies and Modern Languages, Christine has decided to further her studies by training at TFSS, where she was also prepped for the GCSE Drama Course. A natural when it comes to comedy, Christine’s talent had earned her many roles in various short films: Talk to a star, The Student’s View, The Sea and Me, Picture Perfect. Under the guidance of Athena Xenidou, she has been introduced to the Meisner, Adler, Hagen and Strasberg techniques; something which she still loves to explore. Having recently been accepted to her dream school, Christine is moving to Canada, where she'll be studying Voice Acting at the Vancouver Film School.

ΧΕΝΙΑ ΙΟΑΚΕΙΜ

Born and raised in the UK, Xenia received a degree in Acting before moving to Cyprus and pursuing acting in both English and Greek-speaking productions in TV and theatre.  She joined The Film and Stage Studio in 2011, taking classes in Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera. She performed in yearly Acting Showcases of like So What? and A dozen Does It at Theatre Ena. In 2013, she worked with Athena Xenidou, co-producing the successful run of Eve Ensler’s The Good Body, at Melina Merkouri in 2013, directed by Athena. Xenia had the leading role, starring alongside Chrisitna Marouchou and Nedie Antoniades among others.  In 2014, she had a leading role in TV series The Secret Well for Sigma TV, directed by Savvas Hadjigeorgiou and Athena Xenidou.

TESSA COLASSIDES

Tessa is British-Cypriot. She always had a talent and a great passion for acting, even though she did not choose it as her profession. She has taken part in numerous theatrical productions, mainly by the Anglo Cypriot Theatre.  In 2010, Tessa had a leading role in The Vagina Monologues, a play by Eve Ensler, directed by Athena Xenidou and Thadd Correia. A sold-out show, produced by the Anglo Cypriot Theatre (ACT). In 2013, another collaboration occurred, when Athena was producing and directing The Good Body, another poignant play by Eve Ensler. All proceeds from both shows went to children’s charities.

DEMETRIS YORKADJIS

Demetris started taking Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera classes at The Film and Stage Studio in 2016, while studying Method Acting, the Stella Adler technique, the Uta Hagen Philosophy and Meisner technique.

He participated in Girl Talk and Fools in Love, a show produced by The Film and Stage Studio, under the direction of Athena Xenidou at Theatro Ena in Nicosia.

After a year of training at TFSS, Demetris made the conscious decision to apply to the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting. He prepared for the auditions and the interviews with acting coach Athena Xenidou and was accepted!

He is currently working as an actor on television and on stage, including performing at the National Theatre of Cyprus. He is also pursuing his love for stand up comedy.

DENA IOANNOU

Dena was always very passionate about acting. She collaborated with Athena Xenidou in 2014. She performed in a Greek comedy, Mammakias (2014) at Theatre Pallas, directed by Athena Xenidou. The production was an initiative of the Rotary Club Nicosia and run by Athena Xenidou and Anthony Thomas Ashiotis. It was a sold-out show, raising a significant amount at the box office, with all proceeds given to charity.

Dena has since had numerous roles in local tv series.

MOHAMMED AWAAD

Mohammed joined The Film and Stage Studio early on and became a beloved guest of TFSS productions and events.

Mohammed Awwad is a primary school teacher. Studied English Literature in Bethlehem University/ Palestine. His focus is the Education of young children through comedy and clowning. Mohammed's main focus is introducing comedy to the disadvantaged communities and provide psychological healing for troubled children through clown education. Mohammed travels between Europe, Middle East, Africa and Far Asia in hope to give laughter and joy to as many hospitalized children as possible, people with special needs and elderly people.

NIKOS TSOURIS

Nikos is French-Cypriot with a career in IT and a passion for acting. This passion led him to The Film and Stage Studio where he studied Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera. In 2017, he performed in That Awkward Moment, a successful theatrical production at Theatre Dentro, under the direction of Athena Xenidou. He has performed in numerous independent theatrical productions since. In 2019, he took part in a short film, Prevail, an action war prequel produced by Athena Xenidou, playing an American soldier on the battlefield. He also enjoys taking part in commercial projects. He had a leading role in the 2018 CYTA campaign.

Avgoustina Stylianou.jpg

AVGOUSTINA STYLIANOU

At The Film and Stage Studio, Avgoustina took Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera classes. She studied Method Acting, the Stella Adler technique, the Uta Hagen Philosophy and Meisner technique, under the direction of Athena Xenidou.

Avgoustina then moved to Athens, where she continued her studies in acting and started working in several professional theatrical productions in Greece and Cyprus.  She is currently performing in Filumena Marturano, a play directed by Magdalena Zira at the National Theatre of Cyprus.

ANTHONY THOMAS ASHIOTIS

Anthony was born in Nicosia. His mother is half English – half Irish whilst his father is Greek Cypriot. He is a Chartered Certified Accountant and runs his own firm of auditors, accountants and consultants since 1990 based in Nicosia with clients based worldwide. He has over many years been involved in charity work, especially as President of Rotaract and Rotary Nicosia.

His passion for the stage led him to start Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera at The Film and Stage Studio in 2014. He had leading roles in the yearly TFSS theatrical productions, including Mammakias (2014) at Theatre Pallas, for the Rotary Club Nicosia. Mammakias raised 17,000 euro in box office with all proceeds given to charity.

Anthony also acted in Fools in Love (2016) and An Awkward Moment (2017) under the direction of Athena Xenidou. He has in recent years also taken up playwriting. Friends for Oscars is the first play he has written, and it was successfully produced at the Satirikon Theatre, Nicosia in 2021.

CHRISTOS HADJICHRISTODOULOU

Christos took part in the Acting for Teens Classes in 2016. In 2017, he performed in The Film and Stage Studio Acting Showcase, That Awkward Moment, at Theatre Dentro. His dream is to work professionally in special affects in crime and thriller movies.

THANASIS DRAKOPOULOS

Thanasis is a beloved Greek actor, well known in both Greece and Cyprus where he resides.

The mutual respect and admiration between him and director Athena Xenidou, made him to follow her into The Film and Stage Studio team and its productions. He starred in a successful run of Art, the play by the French playwright Yasmina Reza, directed by Athena and performed at Theatro Ena and Satiriko.

Thanasis is known for tv shows Asteria stin Ammo and films such as Vourate Geitonoi, Boy on the Bridge, Pity, Beloved Days and others. In 2021, Thanasis wrote and starred in Insidious, Invisible, produced and directed by Sophia Tsangaridou and Athena Xenidou. The short film has received several mentions and official selections in film festivals around the globe.

DANIEL DEAN

Daniel has participated in theatrical productions during his time in high school, as well as in independent plays. Recently, he worked as an extra in the Lacta and Public advertising campaigns, and had a leading role in the 2021 National Anti-Smoking TV Campaign. He is studying Acting and will take part in the 2022 showcase So Much Drama.

TAMARA TUTNJEVIC

Tamara is from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. All her life she has been acting in the amateur plays. Her journey at The Film and Stage Studio started in 2011, where she took group classes while also studying the Stella Adler and Meisner technique. Within a decade, Tamara starred in numerous successful Acting Showcases under the direction of Athena Xenidou A Dozen Does it (2015) Fools in Love (2016) That Awkward Moment (2017), a number of ACT productions and a play directed by our alumni, Monica Gavrielides, Love, Loss and What I Wore. (2021) produced by W.E.T.

PANOS MILIOS

Born in 2005, Panos is a violinist at the Cypriot Young Symphony Orchestra. Aspiring to become a great director, Panos has joined TFSS in 2019, taking up Acting, Cinematography, Editing and Directing. Under the guidance of Athena Xenidou he already directed three short films: Kethcup Bottle (2021), Picture Perfect  (2021), and Big Trouble  (2022). Panos is currently working on the development of his next short film, as well as directing scenes for the 2022 Acting Showcase at Dentro Theatre.

ARIANA DEMETRIADES

Ariana is a student at the English School of Nicosia and dreams of becoming a musical theatre actress. She has participated in various TFSS short films, such as Ketchup Bottle (2021), Dance Fever (2021) and Big Trouble (2022). Ariana is studying Acting at TFSS and preparing for her LAMDA Drama Exams.

NIKIANNA LOIZOU

Nikianna Loizou is already picturing herself strolling down the streets of Paris as a screenwriter; a goal which she hopes to achieve within the next couple of years. At only 17, she has quickly shown her artistic capabilities at TFSS. She describes the studio as a ‘shelter’ and an ‘opportunity to reach the edge of her skills and knowledge’ in the field of cinematography, screenwriting and acting; all of which are classes she is currently undertaking with us.

ALEEN ANDREOU

Aleen has had a thirty-year love affair with the stage. Aleen begun her journey at The Film and Stage Studio in 2010, where she became an integral member of the Adult Group Class. She also studied Method Acting, the Stella Adler and the Meisner technique. She has starred in numerous successful Acting Showcases under the direction of Athena Xenidou, like Bedset (2010), Eight (2011), So What? (2012) Girl Talk (2013) A Dozen Does it (2015) Fools in Love (2016) That Awkward Moment (2017) to name a few. In 2021 she starred in Love, Loss and What I Wore, a play directed by TFSS alumni, Monica Gavrielides, under the mentorship of Athena Xenidou.

Over the years, Aleen has performed in numerous theatrical productions by ACT and the Rotary Club. She has worked in three films, most notably as Maggie in Al Davidian's Don't Make a Sound. Aleen is a co-founder in two improv groups, Nudniks and Bored of Directors. Off stage, she is a trainer and coach with PeopleAchieve.

MONICA GAVRIELIDES

Monica is a Brazilian-Cypriot with a career in banking, but her true passion since childhood, lies in theatre. In 2017, she acted in That Awkward Moment at Theatre Dentro, a Acting Showcase.

At the Film and Stage Studio, she studied Acting and Directing for the Stage with Athena Xenidou. In 2021, she acted and directed Love, Loss and What I Wore, a play by Nora Ephron, under the mentorship and guidance of Athena Xenidou. It opened at Theatre Dentro, Nicosia, and had a sold out run with great success.

CHRISTOPHER ELIA

Christopher started taking Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera classes at The Film and Stage Studio in 2017. At the same time, he started studying Method Acting, the Stella Adler technique, the Uta Hagen Philosophy and Meisner technique.

He participated in That Awkward Moment, a show produced by The Film and Stage Studio, under the direction of Athena Xenidou at Theatro Dentro in Nicosia.

After a year of training at TFSS, Christopher made the conscious decision to apply to the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting. He prepared for the auditions and the interviews with acting coach Athena Xenidou and was accepted! He is now a proud graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and he is pursuing his love of music with all the knowledge he gained as a stage performer.

ANASTASIA ANTONIOU

Anastasia had trained at TFSS for four years studying acting and filmmaking. She was involved in many performances, as well as being part of the production team in various projects. She got accepted at the Wagner College in NYC, where she majors in Theatre, Film and Media Studies.

She has been working in theatre as well as tv and film productions in Cyprus and Greece.

Phaedra is Greek and resides in Cyprus, enjoying a successful career as a radio host and a producer.

Born in 2007, Alexandros took acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera classes at The Film and Stage Studio. He had a leading role in two student films, The Ketchup Bottle (2020) and Dance fever (2021), starring alongside Ariana Demetriades, Konstantinos Farmakas and Christine Geudjkian and directed by Panos Milios and Semeli Strovolide. In June 2022, he performed on stage at the yearly Acting Showcase at Theatre Dentro.

ANDREANI CONSTANTI

At age 16, Andreani Constanti began her acting studies at TFSS under the guidance of Athena Xenidou. She is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she met and worked closely with actor and teacher Scott Reiniger, as well as Amir M. Korangy. She has received a BA in Applied Arts and Media from Antioch University L.A. Andreani has appeared in various film, television and theatrical productions. She made her theatrical debut in 2014 in Orloff’s Romantic Fools, under the direction of Athena Xenidou. She had a leading role in the European commercial for MTN. In the US she appeared in short films such as The Gift of the Magi, Gone Gone and Hollow Bedrooms. She is currently working on a sci-fi film and rehearsing for the play Roe by Lisa Loomer.

CRISTINA KAMBERI

Cristina is from Romania and lives in Cyprus for several years. She studied Acting for the Stage at The Film and Stage Studio.  She performed in numerous successful Acting Showcases under the direction of Athena Xenidou, like So What? (2012) Girl Talk (2013) The Good Body(2013) A Dozen Does it (2015)

KONSTANTINOS FARMAKAS

Konstantinos and his passion for movies started when as a child, he starred in Boy on the Bridge (2016), a feature film by Petros Charalambous. He even received an award at the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival for his performance.

In 2019, he pursued his passion further by taking Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera classes at The Film and Stage Studio.

As a result, he starred in a student film, Dance Fever, produced by The Film and Stage Studio, directed by Semeli Strovolide.

After training in both acting and filmmaking at TFSS, Konstantinos made the decision to apply to the prestigious Aristoteleio University for film studies and acting. He was accepted and is currently enjoying mastering his craft as a filmmaker.

ELEONORA LA LUNA

Eleonora is a professional performer; singer, actress, radio host, voice over artist and presenter.

She started taking Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera classes at The Film and Stage Studio, while also being introduced to Method Acting, the Stella Adler technique, the Uta Hagen Philosophy and Meisner technique.

At the Film and Stage Studio’s Acting Showcase at Theatro Ena, she played Sydney, from the play The Altruists, by Nicky Silver, under the direction of Athena Xenidou.

KATERINA KAOURI

Katerina was born in Beirut, Lebanon and raised in Nicosia, Cyprus. She started performing from a young age and was a part of many theatre groups. She took ballet lessons from the age of four and singing lessons from the age of fourteen. At age 16, she formed her own band that participated in a series of acoustic concerts.

Katerina started taking classes at The Film and Stage Studio, studying Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera while also studying Method Acting, the Stella Adler technique, the Uta Hagen Philosophy and Meisner technique.

In 2016, he starred in Fools in Love, a successful theatrical production at Theatro Ena, under the direction of Athena Xenidou.

She first made the decision to apply to the prestigious drama school Rose Bruford, in London, where she completed the foundation year. She then prepared for the auditions and the interviews for The Academy of Dramatic Arts with acting coach Athena Xenidou and was accepted! After graduating, she continued to work in Los Angeles, pursuing her passion for acting in theatrical and film productions.

ANTHONY ROOT

Anthony who took Acting for the Stage classes with the Adult Group at The Film and Stage Studio. In 2016, he performed in Fools in Love, a successful theatrical production at Theatro Ena, under the direction of Athena Xenidou.

He started acting in the late seventies and debuted in The Rose and Crown by J.B Priestly. During that same period, he took part in Shakespeare productions at Curium with small or walk on roles. His 33-year professional career as cabin crew prevented him from being involved further with the theatre in an acting capacity. He has been a regular front of house member at various ACT productions and appearing in the Panto Treasure Island and became involved in improvisation and stand-up comedy.

Dimitris Kafataris 1.jpg

DEMETRIS KAFATARIS

Dimitris Kafataris is a creative working in the UK as an actor, armourer, and fight director. He holds a first-class BA Hons degree in Acting and Stage Combat from East 15 Acting School. His degree education included intensive training in all forms of armed and unarmed dramatic combat for theatre and film, including a vast array of swords, polearms, knives, shields, and firearms. After graduating he started working as a fight director with the approach ‘’Why do you fight?’’ driven by character choice and story circumstance. He has fight directed multiple stage productions across the UK, collaborated with different stage combat companies, and worked as a fight performer in both theatre and film specialising in firearms handling and tactical military movement. He then founded the theatrical firearms company TITANBORN, where he teaches actors how to use weapons for TV, Theatre, and Film. Before he entered the entertainment industry, he was an SF Green Berets Commando with the Cypriot military, where the correct and safe handling of firearms was an integral part of his military training which he applies to his work as a professional armourer. He is currently employed as a specialist firearms instructor teaching a range of Actors, Stage Managers, Directors and other Theatre professionals how to safely uphold the key procedures for weapons handling in theatre, film and television. His aim has always been to promote and be an advocate for a safe and secure environment for all parts of our industry. In 2021 The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes video game was released, featuring Dimitris as Salim Othman, one of the main characters of the game which he was the Motion Capture performance artist for. This involved the execution of stunts and fight sequences both unarmed and armed to create the fan favourite character Salim. Dimitris is a pioneer in his field as he is the first Greekcypriot actor to have worked as a fight director, armourer, and as a motion capture performer.

MICHELLE PAPADEMETRIOU

Michelle studied Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera at The Film and Stage Studio, privately with Athena Xenidou, while also studying Method Acting, the Stella Adler and Meisner technique. In 2012 she prepared for her auditions to enter the drama school of her choice in Arizona where she got accepted. After graduation, she is now a working actor in the US.

PENNY LOIZOU

Penny has often taken the stage to perform as she is passionate about the craft of acting.

She took part in productions by the Anglo Cypriot Theatre (ACT) as well as numerous English-speaking theatrical productions. ANCA CRISTINA PAUN PERICLEOUS

A Romanian musician and a violin teacher at Scoala Romaneasca Nicosia, University of Nicosia and at Odio Musica Mundana.

Anca studied Acting for the Stage at The Film and Stage Studio and performed in numerous successful Acting Showcases under the direction of Athena Xenidou, like Girl Talk (2013) and The Good Body (2013).

Constantinos is a partner in a law firm in Cyprus. Acting is a recreational activity for her, a beloved hobby that helps her relax and have fun. At The Film and Stage Studio, she took classes in 2016 and she focused on the Improvisation and drama exercises and games.

Maria is a Designer at Rock+Baroque Designers Market.

She is passionate about acting, even though it is only a hobby. AGIS PETRIDES

Agis is a lawyer as well as a Tango Instructor & Administrator @CY TANGO PASSION.

Anthi is from Greece and Works at the Cyprus Olympic Committee.

She is passionate about acting even though she is not a professional actor. She began taking classes in Acting at The Film and Stage Studio in 2012. POLA PAPALEONIDOU

Pola works as an administrator in the corporate environment. However, she takes the stage every chance she gets. She took part in productions by the Anglo Cypriot Theatre (ACT) as well as numerous English-speaking theatrical productions. GIULIO FILIPPO D'ERRICO

Giulio started taking Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera classes at The Film and Stage Studio in 2012, while studying Method Acting, the Stella Adler technique, the Uta Hagen Philosophy and Meisner technique.

The same year, he participated in Girl Talk, a show produced by The Film and Stage Studio, under the direction of Athena Xenidou at Theatro Ena in Nicosia.

After a year of training at TFSS, Giulio made the conscious decision to apply to the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. He prepared for the auditions and the interviews with acting coach Athena Xenidou and got accepted! He is currently a sought-after actor on television and on stage, including performing at the National Theatre of Cyprus.

DIMIS MICHAELIDES

Dimis took acting classes in the Adult Group at The Film and Stage Studio in 2014 and performed in the yearly Acting Showcases at Theatre Ena. In 2015, he was cast in Art, a comedy by Yazmina Reza, starring alongside Thanasis Drakopoulos and Anthony Thomas Ashiotis. Art, directed by Athena Xenidou, was a production by TFSS in collaboration with Rotary Club Nicosia and had a successful run at Satirikon Theatre. All proceeds went to charity.

POLINA THEO

Polina started taking Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera classes at The Film and Stage Studio in 2020. At the same time, she started studying Method Acting, the Stella Adler technique, the Uta Hagen Philosophy and Meisner technique.

In her Filmmaking class, she had a leading role in a student film, Picture Perfect (2021) directed by Panos Milios, and Semeli Strovolide in cinematography.

After a year of training at TFSS, Polina made the conscious decision to apply to the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting and to The Actors’ Studio in New York.

She prepared for the auditions and the interviews under the tutelage of her acting coach Athena Xenidou and was accepted to both schools. The choice between these two legendary schools was a difficult one. Polina finally decided to join the Stella Adler Conservatory where she is currently studying and mastering her craft.

ANNA SAMPSON

Anna is Danish-American. She started taking acting classes with Athena Xenidou at The Film and Stage Studio in 2010, where she was introduced to different acting techniques. In 2011, she took part in the end of the year Acting Showcase So What? at Theatro Ena.

Captivated by the Method and Uta Hagen, she prepared for an audition and got accepted at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute New York where she studied 2011-13 and then continued at Herbert Berghof & Uta Hagen Studio New York.

 

Anna is a member of the Danish Actor's Association. She is experienced in voice acting and has a home recording studio. Anna is a member of the Danish Actor's Association. She is experienced in voice acting and has a home recording studio. Anna's skills extend to hand modeling and she has taken courses in script writing. Anna has an international background and speaks several languages. She has two Masters degrees in Cultural Studies and worked for the United Nations.

Anna is also the owner of a catering company and a café in central Copenhagen.

RAMONA FILIP

Ramona Filip was born in Romania but has been living in Nicosia Cyprus since 1999. Ramona has had no formal training in fashion design, but has an inherent talent for proportion, colour and fabric combinations as well as an instinctive eye for quality and beauty that quickly established her as a permanent figure in the world of fashion.

In 2009, Ramona was presented with the award “Best Designer of the Year” at the Madame Figaro Women of the Year Awards. She had the privilege of receiving the award from one of the biggest style icons and Oscar nominee, Patricia Fields.

At The Film and Stage Studio, Ramona took Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera classes as well as Audition Techniques. She was also introduced to Method Acting, the Stella Adler technique, the Uta Hagen Philosophy and Meisner technique, under the direction of Athena Xenidou. In 2012 she starred in Girl Talk, the sold-out Film and Stage Studio’s Acting Showcase at Theatro Ena.

IVI MEGALEMOU

Ivi started taking Acting for the Stage classes at The Film and Stage Studio in 2011. In 2012, she performed in stage shows such as Once Upon a Time… at Strovolos Theatre in the role of Sleeping Beauty, and continued participating in yearly Acting Showcases.

Ivi has also taken to Acting for the Screen and had leading roles in three student films, How to be Popular in Ten Days(2020), Kissing (2021) and Big Trouble (2022). She is now preparing for the upcoming show at Theatro Dentro 2022.

STEFANY PANAYIOTOU

Stefany is studying acting and filmmaking at TFFS. Under the guidance of Athena Xenidou, she has quickly improved her articulation and vocal abilities, and furthered her knowledge on movement and improv. She has a talent for performance, which is evident through her journey so far, having already performed for the Nicosian Youth Ballet Company. Stefany in plays, such as Inside the Woods, Elixir of Life and in Friends for Oscars, and is currently rehearsing for the 2022 Acting Showcase.

ALEXIA PARASKEVA

Alexia is an accomplished female actor and drama educator who worked at The Senior School Nicosia for many years. She first joined Athena Xenidou’s team and The Film and Stage Studio in 2009 when she was cast the leading role in Eve Ensler’s, The Vagina Monologues. With Athena, they worked with different techniques or ‘tools’ like Method Acting for her preparation for the role. The play was sold-out and toured in Cyprus for the English-speaking audiences.

SHAUNNA JOANNIDOU

Shaunna is American and lives with her family in Cyprus. She is an academic and has been at the University of Cyprus for several years.

She was always drawn to performing and so she started studying Acting for the Stage at The Film and Stage Studio.

In 2010, Shaunna had a leading role in The Vagina Monologues, a play by Eve Ensler, directed by Athena Xenidou and Thadd Correia. A sold-outshow, produced by the Anglo Cypriot Theatre (ACT) and Athena herself. In 2013, another collaboration occurred, when Athena was producing and directing The Good Body, another poignant play by Eve Ensler. All proceeds from both shows went to children’s charities.

Andriana has been studying Acting and Cinematography at TFSS since 2018. She took part in theatrical productions at school, as well as in independent plays, such as Get Staffed ( by Frank Gibbons, 2019) and Friends for Oscars written by Anthony Ashiotis (2021), as well as acted in showcases That Awkward Moment  (2018) and So Much Drama  (2022) under the direction of Athena Xenidou. At TFSS she had leading roles in the short films How to Be Popular in Ten Days (2019) and Kissing (2020), written by Rebecca Young and directed by Semeli Strovolide. She worked as a camera operator for Picture Perfect (2021) and cinematographer for Big Trouble (2021). In 2021, she had a leading role in a national anti-smoking TV Campaign.

David is British- Cypriot. He is a professionally trained actor, having also a career in Information Technology. NATASHA TAVOUKJIAN

Natasha is Armenian from Beirut, Lebanon and living in Cyprus for most of her life. She is the CEO of a very successful family company, Orbit Moving & Storage. She is also a talented playwright, having written a full length play in Armenian and two One Act plays, performed at TFSS Acting Showcases.

Natasha studied Acting for the Stage at The Film and Stage Studio, while also studying the Stella Adler and Meisner technique. She had leading roles in numerous successful Acting Showcases under the direction of Athena Xenidou like So What? (2012) Girl Talk (2013) A Dozen Does it (2015) Fools in Love (2016) That Awkward Moment (2017) and a play directed by our alumni, Monica Gavrielides, Love, Loss and What I Wore (2021).

THEODORA LORDOU

Theodora Lordou was born in 2005 and has been an Acting and Filmmaking student at TFSS. She has taken part in the 2020 short films How to be popular and Talk to a Star. She has also taken screenwriting with Athena Xenidou, which led to her first completed feature-length screenplay, The Alien in Me, a sci-fi movie. She has completed the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art grade 7 drama exam.

VASSILIA MELIOU

A graduate from the Musician’s Institute of Los Angeles, with a scholarship in Vocal Performance

Vassilia Meliou, was born in Cyprus in 1992.

From a young age, she discovered her calling as an artist. As a singer, she performed in various music stages, music concerts, festivals and became the soloist of the Music Guard National Army of Cyprus. In 2010 she studied Classical Philology and Anglophone Literature and Cultural Studies at the University of Cyprus. In 2014, she got her Vocal Certificate from Trinity Rockschool. Before leaving for the United States, she mastered her theatrical skills as well at The Film and Stage Studio with Athena Xenidou.

In 2018 she graduated from Musician’s Institute of Los Angeles, with a scholarship in Vocal Performance. In Los Angeles, she performed in several music events and was a successful radio producer and popular host at the Greek Radio of the United States. Today, she performs in various music venues in Greece and Cyprus and enjoys teaching vocals and stage performance.

SEMELI STROVILIDE

Semeli is a student at the University for the Creative Arts in Fanrham, UK, where she is working towards her BA in Film and Digital Art. Her artistic journey began at the TFSS, where she studied directing, cinematography and screenwriting. At TFSS she has produced three, experimental, short films, and four live-action short films. This portfolio gave her entrance to UCA without the need to undertake A-Level examinations or complete a foundation year. She continues to develop her screenwriting for short films at TFSS, aiming at producing it in the future.

YORGOS STAVRIDES

Yiorgos studied Acting for the Stage at The Film and Stage Studio. In 2015, he starred in A Dozen Does it, a successful theatrical production at Theatro Ena, under the direction of Athena Xenidou.

ANGELA CONSTANTINIDOU

Angela Constantinidou is a Multi-Disciplinary Artist. She acts, directs, and writes, combining her knowledge and talents. Before graduating the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre,  she trained in acting at TFSS for three years, where she discovered her love for the Meisner Technique. She is also a proud alumni of the Full-Time Conservatory of Atlantic Acting School, the School of the Practical Aesthetics Technique, in New York. She also owns an MA in Theatre Studies with a focus on Acting and Directing. She holds a degree in Architectural Engineering, and has been working in the field of Building Conservation and Preservation for more than 10 years. She often promotes matters of preservation and Heritage through her art work.
Through the years, she has taught architectural design, interior design and acting to people of different ages (kindergarten, high school, university students, adults) and backgrounds. Teaching is one of the things she really enjoys doing as it gives her a great pleasure to pass the knowledge to others and help them discover their potential and find their voice.

ANTHI ZACHARIADOU

Anthi is the Managing Director of Royal Crown Insurance. She is passionate about theatre and served as a member of the Board of Directors at THOC (Cyprus National Theatre Organization). A talented writer herself, Caterina, Last Queen of Cyprus, one of the plays she has written, starring Christina Marouchou and directed by Andreas Araouzos, was performed in Cyprus and at the United Solo Theatre Festival in New York with rave reviews.

Anthi studied Acting and Producing for the Stage with Athena Xenidou and worked closely with her at The Film and Stage Studio for So What? a theatrical production at Theatre Ena. All proceeds from the show went to the Cyprus Autism Association.

MARODIA DRAKOU HANAPPA

Marodia studied Acting for the Stage with Athena Xenidou, while also studying different acting techniques. Between 2012 and 2014, she performed in the yearly Acting Showcases.

MARILENA THEOCLITOU

Marilena is a lawyer and then got appointed as a judge. For her, acting is a way to escape the pressure of this demanding position. She joined the group classes at The Film and Stage Studio in 2012. Marilena performed in the yearly Acting Showcases So What? and Girl Talk at Theatro Ena, under the direction of Athena Xenidou.

ANN CONSTANTINIDES

Ann has often taken the stage to perform as she is passionate about the craft of acting.

She took part in productions by the Anglo Cypriot Theatre (ACT) as well as numerous English-speaking theatrical productions. At TFSS, she had a leading role in The Vagina Monologues, a play by Eve Ensler, directed by Athena Xenidou and Thadd Correia. A sold-out show, produced by the Anglo Cypriot Theatre (ACT), raising a large amount for local charities related to children.

ALEXANDRA PAPADOPOULOS

Alexnadra has often taken the stage to perform as she is passionate about the craft of acting.

KATERINA XANTHOU

Katerina is an incredible dancer and combines her acting skills to enhance her performances. She studied Acting for the Stage and Acting for the Camera at The Film and Stage Studio, while also studying Method Acting, the Stella Adler and Meisner technique. In 2012 she prepared privately with Athena Xenidou for her auditions to enter King’s College London where she got accepted.

CONSTANTINA ECONOMOU

Constantina is passionate about acting, even though it is only a hobby of hers. She is a lawyer and performs often in plays produced by the Lawyer’s Theatrical Association. She collaborated with The Film and Stage Studio in 2014 when she was cast in a successful Greek comedy Mammakias (2014) at Theatre Pallas, directed by Athena Xenidou. The production was an initiative of the Rotary Club Nicosia and produced by Athena Xenidou and Anthony Thomas Ashiotis. It was a sold-out show, raising a significant amount at the box office, with all proceeds given to charity.
